Family: Hit-and-run victim was kind, loving

GRANITE CITY, Ill. – Police in Granite City say they’ve found the truck involved in a deadly hit-and-run, but they’re still looking for the driver who killed 25-year-old Mark Harris, Jr. over the weekend.

Police say Harris was found on the side of Route 203, a quarter mile from 21st Street, around 7:45 Sunday morning. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

Friends and family describe Harris as loving and kind. He was a Pattonville High School football star and a wide receiver at Quincy University.

Family members are now left with a big mystery as they try to answer these two key questions– why was Harris on Route 203 alone and who is the driver who hit and killed him?
