ST. LOUIS • A man was critically injured Saturday night when he was struck by a hit-and-run driver as he crossed a street near Sherman Park, police said.
The man was crossing Martin Luther King Drive west of Kingshighway just after 11 p.m. when he was hit, police said. He walked south between two vehicles to get to the center turn lane and was struck by a westbound Ford F-150 pickup that had crossed into the turn lane.
The driver of the truck fled. Police had no description of the driver.
The injured man, 40, was taken to a hospital, where he was in critical and unstable condition, police said Monday.
