Pedestrian fatally struck in hit-and-run on St. Francois County highway

A pedestrian was fatally struck in a hit-and-run Wednesday night as she tried to cross Highway 67 in St. Francois County, police say.

The victim was identified as Jennifer A. Tyler, 32, of Bonne Terre.

The Missouri Highway Patrol said Tyler tried to cross the northbound lanes of Highway 67 at Highway Y at about 11:30 p.m. Wednesday.

A deputy coroner pronounced her dead at the scene.

Police say the vehicle that hit Tyler left the scene. Police had no description of the vehicle or its driver.

A police summary of the incident did not indicate why Tyler was crossing the highway.

I have been trying to reach out to the family of Jennifer Tyler…and let them know that she was truly a dear friend to me, I have been knowing her for at least 10 years plus…if I could only let the family know how truly sorry I am for their lost…and if there is anything I could do to help them in anyway please have them reach me at 314-413-0578

I am truly sorry I do not have tips on how this tragic happen to an innocence person…the person alto come forward so family can be at ease.

My prayers and thoughts are with the family and friends of the family. I am truly sorry for whomever took her to soon out of this world.
