ST. CHARLES COUNTY • Police on Wednesday night were trying to find a driver believed to have caused an accident about 2:55 p.m. at Ehlmann and Truman roads.
St. Charles County police said the man fled the scene on foot with a passenger, who was apprehended about 15 minutes after the collision.
Police said the accident occurred when a vehicle driven by the man going northbound failed to yield to another vehicle, crashing into it. The second vehicle then spun out, hitting a county police motorcycle officer.
Val Joyner, a spokeswoman for county police, said the officer wasn’t injured. Police earlier had said he had non-life-threatening injuries.
Police did not have a detailed description of the driver they were seeking.
