ST. LOUIS COUNTY • A 26-year-old St. Louis County man has died after being struck in a hit-and-run Wednesday night, police said.
According to St. Louis County Police, Robert Killian was struck as he attempted to cross Parker Road at a crosswalk near Townsend Elementary School at 6645 Parker Road. He lived in the 12000 block of Missile Lane, not far from where he was hit.
The crash occurred at 7:37 p.m. Killian was taken to a hospital, where he died from his injuries.
Police said the area was poorly lit and Killian was wearing a black coat and blue jeans. The vehicle, which was traveling east on Parker, continued a short distance after striking Killian, then made a U-turn and left the area.
Authorities did not have a description of the driver. Police said one witness described a dark colored SUV with rust near the rear passenger side wheel well.
